BURY THE DOGS
Bury the Dogs is a coming of age drama about the cracks that form in childhood friendships, the vulnerability of youth and the frailty of parental figures. ANT (19) and EMILY (18) have known and looked after each other all of their lives but since leaving school they have begun to grow apart. ANT is showing signs of extreme views that surprise EMILY as well as being desperate to introduce her to new, much older, and questionable friend TOSH (52). The film centres around Emily’s introduction to Tosh and his group of friends who Emily quickly realises hold a worrying power over troubled Ant. She feels both possessive and protective over him, knowing both his tumultuous upbringing and fractured parental relationships that make him vulnerable as well as having a great deal of her own self worth tied up in the long established security of their friendship.
